The good, the bad and the ugly from our little goat dairy. Oh, and the cute, too. Lots of the cute.

New Hobby
We are officially trying to convince everyone who visits the farm at chore time to take a turn doing the Stupidest Job on the Farm. ...the only rule being that they have to wear the hat.
My dad was the first to oblige.
...and our friend Eric was the next. Yes. This is our idea of fun.
I am thinking that January would be a good time for this (soon to be) Illinois gal who need to learn about dairy goats to visit BHF...I will wear the hat and do chores, Hell I will even SMILE!!
We'll probably be headed your way on Monday, if that works for you guys. We're going to Houston way of San Antonio on Saturday, so will not exactly be in the neighborhood. :) Can you pencil us in for Monday late AM? Hoping we get to see baby goat birth!
Blue Heron Farm is a small, family owned goat dairy committed to producing high quality, healthful foods in a sustainable manner.
Located on 10.5 acres in Field Store Community, Texas, we specialize in fresh goat cheeses, which are available at Houston-area farmers markets.
We are dedicated to serving a market that puts thought into their food choices and an importance not only on their own health, but that of the animals that are the source of their food.

Remind me not to visit at chore time...

Rock on, Margie - we should have a guest "house" by then. :)
I totally want a turn...we're headed to Houston on Saturday and leaving on Monday. Will you guys be around?
We'll be here, Kristin. Even Lily can wear the big hat. :) We also may be having baby goats. Something I should probably blog about.
